Margaret is one of those remarkable people whose life has spanned generations.
Having lived through the second world war, she has witnessed extraordinary moments in history and experienced a world that has changed beyond recognition.
Her resilience, wisdom and gentle outlook on life inspire everyone who has the pleasure of knowing her.
Before retiring, Margaret enjoyed a fulfilling career as an English teacher, nurturing a love of language and literature in countless young people. Even today, her passion for words shines through.
On special occasions at Cleeve Lodge, Margaret often writes beautiful poems, which she proudly reads aloud to her fellow residents. Her thoughtful verses always bring smiles, laughter and, quite often, a few happy tears.
Margaret has lived locally for many years in the neighbouring village of Pangbourne and has remained close to the community she knows and loves. She is also the proud mother of two daughters, who continue to play an important part in her life.
Creativity has always been at the heart of who Margaret is. She has a wonderful talent for sewing and loves creating beautiful pieces with great care and attention to detail. Music is another lifelong passion.
An accomplished keyboard and piano player, Margaret has spent many happy hours sharing her love of music and it’s something that still brings her enormous joy today.
